In 2013, as the European transport industry crept into economic recovery, a new roadblock appeared: the strict Euro 6 emissions standard, which added 10% to the price of a new truck. Upgrading fleets was a must for many, but financing was in short supply.
Keeping transport firms rolling
Truckland, the leading dealer of DAF Trucks in the Netherlands, says many transport firms felt the need to quickly upgrade their fleets to Euro 6 vehicles, but did not have the cash flow or lines of credit to finance them. “The seamless partnership we have with DLL made it easy for large and small trucking operators to finance the complete package: Euro 6 trucks and their maintenance and repair services,” says Piet Hein Horstmeier, Managing Director of Truckland Zuid-Holland.
Full-service leasing solutions
In 2009, DLL and Truckland set up a joint venture to provide private label financing under the Truckland Leasing brand. “The advantage of a joint venture is that both parties share the business risk and are heavily invested in making the concept work,” says Frank Hendriks, Managing Director, Truckland Lease. Truckland’s full-service leasing solutions include financing, maintenance and repair, tires, insurance, Eurovignet, taxes, etc.
